Product Description

Product Description

Tamara, Ned, Angus and Jim all have their problems. Iona knows them all and she'd like to slap the lot of them! Iona's only problem is that she doesn't have a driver's licence. Perhaps learning to drive as a team effort will provide an "Elastoplast" for problems, but then again, maybe not.

When there's so much disposable fiction around for young women, it's refreshing to come across a writer who can be entertaining but thoughtful at the same time. There's all the usual fascination here of looking over someone's shoulder's into their lives, but Victoria Routledge has a sharp eye for detail and more than once I had a shudder of recognition, particularly at Marie and Chris's disintergrating relationship. The humour is clever and doesn't rely on a series of name checks for London restaurants - at the end of the book (which was satisfyingly long) I was left feeling as though I knew the characters, and really wanted to go to the Bunch of Grapes!

Unputdownable! I must admit that this is her first book that I have read but if the previous ones are half as good as this then I cannot wait to discover her other literary triumphs. Extremely literate, funny, sad and irreverent I would recommend this book to anyone.

I had ordered this a few months ago from Amazon and was counting the days until it was published, and i could get my hands on Victoria Routledge's latest novel. Just like the others it was very funny, as well as being intelligent and thought provoking, and not at all girly (which is a relief to a bloke). It was brilliant. I almost handed in my notice twice as a result! Well worth the wait, i really must order the next. Counting the days already.....
