The most splendid work I have ever read on the prophet. Not a biography, but a serious insight into the nature and veneration of the prophet - his names, nature, essence, power and miracles. Gathered from hadith, quran, tradition all branches of Islam and Islamic mysticism. Professor Schimmel has structured and written the book so that the reader flows from page to page and chapter to chapter held fascinated and transfixed until the very last page has been read. Includes most beautiful names of the prophet, complete extensive bibliography and source of quotes, traditions etc.

This is a book about how the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is venerated in the different nations of Islam. Its excellent it brings forth various references from all kinds of Muslim nations who have traditions of veneration towards the last messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Its worth the purchase buy now!

One of the most beautiful tributes to the messenger of God - this is coming from a Muslim. At the same time, it is an extremely thorough academic work looking into the relationship between Muslims and the messenger.

Useful for both Muslims and those not.
