I take my hat off to anybody who writes a book, yes there is beautiful prose but confusing also. The style of alternating of writing between first & third person confusing. I found it hard to differ between some of the voices of characters, the characters voices where not individual enough, it was like reading through a haze in the first third of the book, you didn't quite get the whole picture before the plot twisted into another direction.
Domininc a scientist, who goes to a hell hotel to prove that being a vampire etc is all in the mind & can be cured, Olivia is a fallen angel which makes her a vampire that has been trying for thousands of years to find a 'loop hole' in her damnation as even though she has to feed, she feels no touch/emotion & turns into the ideal woman for the person who sees her.
Lots of feeding action, the way the vampires feed is interesting & the set up to do this safely also. Lots of nudity M/F ~ F/F action regarding feeding but it's not over gratuitious, but a bit of domination also.
A flat, frustrating read...really had to struggle to finish it...not enough action and enough plot to make me care...but some ideas where really original & gave a new twist on the vampire legend.
