From the description I was hoping that it would be darker brown but in reality it's actually a dark tan colour. I may try saddle soap on it to darken it and also to soften it up slightly. The clip and stitching all seem that they will stand up to daily use. All being said, for the price I am happy with the item and suspect the puppy will be more than happy for his first walks on it.
