I love anything Egyptian and upon seeing this book in the library I got straight onto Amazon to own a copy. It's fabulous and I can't wait to get started on the pictures - the question is, which one do I begin with as they're all lovely! I would highly recommend this book.

A book worth your money... 7 Feb 2007
By Zephyr - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I was inspired to purchase this book after using the search inside device provided by amazon.com. I am very much interested in the Ancient Egyptian culture. This book is amazing providing quite a few larger projects including the Sphinx, King Tut, and a goddess. It also has quite a large amount of smaller motifs ideal for bookmarks including Osiris, the eye of Horus, Isis, Anubis etc. At the end of the book you can find a few border designs. This book uses quite a lot of color mostly green, red, yellow, and blue. It provides colored charts containing symbols for easy identification. A definite must have for any cross stitcher!

Modern camels in ancient book 9 Nov 2007
By GalaxieBleu - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Camels weren't introduced until the Persians took control of Egypt around 525 B.C.. In early ancient Egypt donkeys were used at transportation and pack animals. There is no evidence of the camels existence in ancient egypt - no remains mummified or otherwise, no references in paintings or statues or other art from that period (National Geographic says so and doing a search there are tons of other sites, museums and books that say the same thing). If you have studied and loved Ancient Egypt as much as I have you will never have seen any camels in that time period. Other than this huge mix-up (small camel and man on page 8 project and huge touristy looking project on page 50 of arabian camel in front of pyramid) I like the projects in this book and the colors used for those projects. I will definitely be doing quite a few of these projects in the form in which they were made and adapting them to other forms as well. There are iconic images such as Nefertiti and King Tut., typical daily life scenes, common species of the time period and hieroglyphics so there are a wide range of projects in this book.

Fabulous Charts! 23 Dec 2007
By Humming bird - Published on Amazon.com

I just love the charts in this book. I was getting tired of the same old books. This book is really refreshing. The charts when stitched turn out gorgeous. It is well worth what I paid for it. Even if it hadn't been on sale I would have bought it.
