A brief high level overview of a complex subject,

As i have little knowledge but interest in this subject i thought this would be a good starting point. Unfortunately, i found this to be very disapointing. This is too highlevel, the narrator is good, but the chapters are too brief. I wanted more substance, more history, more examples. I wanted to know about the people, the places and not just about the few remaining places on the tourist map.Sorry, but very disapointed, i also hoped this would help with my childrens school topic on Egyptians, but this is no good at all for that.

I would urge caution to all prospective buyers of this DVD. The quality is very poor. The computer reconstructions are of a very low quality (they look like they were done by an amatuer on photoshop) and whilst the majority of the facts given are correct there are a few which frankly are dubious or which are no longer the accepted viewpoints held by most Egyptologists. In short, it's a little dated. The music is also...well, extremely irritating and doesn't seem to be the best choice they could have made.There have been a great many excellent documentaries made about Ancient Egypt - but sadly, this isn't among them.
