This delightful collection of rubber stamps of ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs would surely be a welcome and useful addition to anyone interested in this craft/hobby. I have been looking for stamps on this theme for some time, without success until now. This has certainly filled a gap in my opinion.

Presentation couldn't be better. The set comes in it's own wooden box with some of the symbols decorating the lid. Inside is a little booklet outlining the basic alphabet and meanings of other symbols, such as the Ankh. It includes a brief introduction to the writings of ancient Egypt, a few of the major gods and how hieroglyphs were written and read, without being too lengthy or confusing for younger people. The stamps themselves work extremely well, and the tops even have the appearance of being cut by hand.

Suitable for almost any age, this has to be a must-have for the rubber-stamping hobbyist, or anyone interested in Egypt and it's ancient writings and art. Thank you very much for this Jennifer, I love it!

okay quality 5 Jan 2011

The box is nice as are the symbols, but the quality of the rubber is not the greatest. These should be more deeply etches because if you put a little too much pressure on them, you'll get ink marks from the outer edges of the square. They are a nuisance to put back into the box because they have to all go in a certain way.
