This a must buy for a new collector to the field of Roman Coins. It gives an easy to read broad overview of the subject. It has detailed tables of the denominations, and has a table of Mint Marks which is useful. It has a small section on attributing Roman Coins and lists some of the common abbreviated titles. The potrait Gallery of the emperors is very good and detailed. The book has some excellent pictures of quality coins. The book does have some errors but these are very minor. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Overall, this is a cheap, useful book which deserves a place in any collectors library.

Excellent book 15 Mar 2009

My son was very pleased with this book. As a recent collector of Roman coins he has various books and pamphlets on coin identification but none like this one. He is now able to tell which of his coins belongs to which part of history and put them in cronological order. A great success.

The book covers a basic number of coins. There are no ideas of value for the coin. Being in UK, it doesn't cover many of the coins you would find in England but the Roman Empire.
