Seven years after capturing the heart of his co-anchor and wife, Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate), Burgundy (Will Ferrell) is offered the chance of lifetime: to be in on the world‚s first 24-hour global cable news network, GNN, in New York City. The newsman quickly rounds up his classic news team ‚ sports guy Champ Kind (David Koechner), man on the street Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd) and weatherman Brick Tamland (Steve Carell) ‚ and heads to The Big Apple. Upon arriving, he is quickly challenged by his strong female boss, Linda Jackson (Meagan Good), Australian multi-millionaire network owner Kench Allenby (Josh Lawson) and a chiseled popular lead anchor, Jack Lime (James Marsden). It‚s up to Ron and the team to find their own way to the top of news ‚ and the top of the ratings.

Ron (Will Ferrell) gets terminated from his job and leaves his wife. He is offered a job from upstart GNN 24 hour news. He assembles his news team etc. etc. etc. The plot is not important. The film is fairly simple and it is more like a connection of skits and one liners than a real situation comedy. You could pretty much start watching the movie at any time and it wouldn't matter. The humor, while crude at times, was original and funny. Sure there were a few scenes I would have cut, the condom selection and racist dinner, but there were too many scenes which had me laughing out loud. Excellent support cast.

Some lines from the film:

"Bats: Chicken of the cave."
"He wanted to donate his organs before he died."
"Remember ten years from now..."
"He bottle fed and raised a shark..."

This is high caliber low brow humor. Crude and racial at times.

Parental Guide: 2 F-bombs. No nudity. Brief comical sex scene. Crude sexual talk.

Every bit as funny as the original. Probably best to be wary of anyone who says otherwise, & possibly set kittens on them.

It was a good film. Certainly not a bad one. I heard this came out so I had to watch it after enjoying the first film and yeah I liked this a lot.

This film is so funny, if not the best comedy of the year. I can understand why this film is not every ones cup of tea but I loved it. TOP film.

Tried so hard to keep my expectations in check being a massive fan of the first film and whilst I knew this wouldn't be nearly as good it still disappointed more than I had hoped. Funny in parts but you'd think after all those years between it would be a good crack at matching the first film. Fun but one watch is enough. Unlike the first.

Loved the first film so this was a HUGE disappointment. Actually couldn't sit all the way through it and I very rarely abandon films. Utterly boring, tedious and unfunny.

I think fans of the original Anchorman will find enough to like about this sequel to make it worth a watch (I did). Sadly its nowhere near as fresh or consistently funny as its predecessor.

The plot (for what its worth) is largely non existent and the film has a thrown together feel to it, more like a collection of sketches. Some of it works, some of it doesn't. When it does work it can be hilarious at times. All the familiar faces are here and there are some chucklesome celebrity cameos later on.

Overall, still fun in places but not as classy.
