I bought this book because it is required reading for the VTCT Body Massage Level 3 Course. It was the first book that I purchased and since then I have purchased several other, much larger volumes on anatomy and physiology. I have given this book three stars because although it is generally well laid out, over the course of my stduies I have found that some inforamtion is missing, e.g. adipose tissue. I have found that some of the layouts can be a little confusing - but if you make sure that you read other A&P books, it is possible to corss-reference what you are working on and not miss anything. To sum up, a good book to start with, but make sure that you look at other books such as Ross and Wilson Anatomy and Physiology in Health and Illness and Gray's Anatomy for Students: With STUDENT CONSULT Online Access.

I have recently undertaken a Level 3 Swedish Massage course and am currently in the middle of a Level 3 Sports Massage course and this book has been invaluable to me in both. I think I will probably still refer to it for a long time to come. The layout of the book is very easy to follow, read and refer to. It is bright and colourful and set out in easy to ready chunks and diagrams. This is a lovely modern textbook which actually makes certain complicated processes interesting and easy to understand, thus easier to remember. Diagrams are very clear and well set out. I am unsure as to how suitable it would be for people studying at a higheer level and if the detail would be enough, BUT for the level I am currently studying at, it really is an ideal studying companion.

An invaluable resource for the year long PT course I did at college. The A & P was hard for me and this book made it easier to plough thru. Filled with text, top tips and both drawings and photos, this book was worth the money.
