Product Description

Product Description

Anatomy of Movement is a dynamic, integrated approach to the study of the physical structures of the musculoskeletal system and their functional relationship to the movements of the human body. The emphasis is on basic human anatomy as it relates to external body movement. In clear and concise text illustrated with more than a thousand graphic drawings, the author takes the reader on a lively tour of the muscles, bones, ligaments and joints of the arms, legs and trunk. The focus throughout the book is on anatomy not for its own sake, but in its functional relationship to the actual movements of the body in physical disciplines. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Format:Paperback
This book offers a lucid and thorough description of the functional and structural anatomy of not only the spine but also all the major joints of the body. Useful reading as a orientating guide for manual practitioners. Makes up for what it lacks in referenced research by illustrating with clear diagrams and brief summaries. Great last minute book to read before practical (for e.g. osteopathy) exams.

Anatomy of Movement 28 Aug 2006
Format:Paperback
Brilliant diagrams/drawings and I have found it more useful than a lot of other books on biomechanics and muscle insertions etc.

Highly recommend it BUT everyone has their own way of studying!

Superbly Readable 1 Mar 2008
Format:Paperback
I've not read an ananotmy book that brings the subject to life as much as this one does. Explains thing clearly and concisely, and really helps with building up an image of how everything fits and works together. One of the previous comments was that this was not a novel - well in my humble opinion it's the closest you'll find from an anatomy book!
