The band have become infamous for their different and innovative style of music and the shock value of wearing ultraviolet day-glo clothes to brighten up London's east end, dark, violent, poor, ghettoized, drug dealing, working class shithole that they lived in into a different land as everywhere they went people smiled and laughed instead of wanting to kill them.
Rubella Ballet who are still fronted and managed by Zillah Minx who has, with all her friends around the world, created the whole Day-glo Death Rock punk scene

AT LAST- a reissue!,
By Kiwi Don "Don" (Belfast) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Anarchy in the U.V. (Audio CD)
I was alway's a sucker for Rubella Ballet's album, and particularly the "42f" 12"-but with the lifestyle i led for so many years,it was impossible to keep track of record's over the years-I'm sure many people will know what I'm talking about if they're reading this! When I eventually found myself 'settled down' to a degree,re-finding records like "at last it's Playtime" and "42f" was an atrocious chore-so when I found that this had been released I was over the moon. They were alway's like the 'light relief' of the anarcho scene..not to take anything away from them-everyone I knew, knew that Sid and Zillah etc had their political heads screwed on-so why SHOULDN'T we have some thing in dayglo, with a psychedelic edge to it,to trip out to when the state of the nation became too much to bear sometimes?
I'm just glad it's back.Now-with this out,and the Mob,Zoundz,Peni, etc all available again-why are Omega Tribe so overlooked that some american rap band has taken the name? A great mix of entertainment and social conscience-See,kiddies?All us older Anarcho types weren't just a bunch of miserablist's,after all!

There are many songs to this album but are a little short. I love slant and slide thats my favorite. I recommend buying this album to your punk collection or whatnot.
