All in all, a good read if you are interested in the subject. However, mistakes have been made in translation, which makes it hard to follow.

This is an honest 1895 translation of Plekhanov's essay on Anarchism. The book is remarkably easy to read. The author (and the translator's) command of the subject is clearly demonstrated. The book provides an honest critique of Anarchism. I found the argues fair and genuine. I strongly recommend this book to all socially conscious individuals whose power of reason forces them to side with a political faction in these trying days of financial hardship.
Anarchism is a seemingly instinctive and beautiful solution to the miseries of the world. The credit crunch and the mess "the Capitalists" have left us in, demands an Anarchismic solution in the first instinct.
It is by understanding its whole proposals, its social roots and ambitions so nicely depicted in this book that one realises that Anarchism is actually a retrograde force; a force of conservatism!
I think all honest and passionate Anrachists need to read this book and then decide if their method is the best for tomorrow's world.
I admit, the book does not necessarily provide a solution; Plekhanov declares himself a socialist but fails to argue why! Maybe he does in his other books. The book is a joy to read and I fully recommend it.

A marxist critique of Anarchism 11 Jan 2012

This book is a marxist critique of anarchism. I guess you will like the book if you are a communist and want to know why other communists think anarchism is wrong.
