It's not the greatest psychological thriller I've seen, but not the worst either. The trailer for this was perfect, it gave great signs of similarity to that of Man hunter, The Bone Collector and Seven. With a bit more effort, this movie could have been of equal calibre, truly outstanding. But I agree, the character development was a bit flimsy - I didn't entirely understand why some characters were introduced, and especially the relationships/links between characters. The main detective had an air of tragedy to him, but this was dragged out throughout the film and I think that's what made the movie a bit of a flop. I would have liked to of seen more involvement with the solving of the murders, but again, this was somewhat overlooked and absent from the story. I also had more questions at the end of the movie - I couldn't understand 'why' ....'why this', 'why that'...I had a lot of 'this makes no sense' moments. But, I still enjoyed the main story and the cinematography.
