Product Description

Analogue Works set out to make an inexpensive turntable mat that offered a huge sonic upgrade over the standard felt mat originally included with the turntable. We listened to every available extruded material known to mankind (even cheese was tested at one point) ultimately leading to the four materials now offered. Cork and Nitrile Lite, Cork and Nitrile Heavy, Silicone and Neoprene.

If you own any turntable with a removable mat you have to try the Analogue Works GimpMat's. You will hear a reduction in background noise, cleaner crisper and more delicate sound, together with a wider deeper soundstage and greater bass authority.

An economic solution versus acrylic platters or big brand rubber mats. This replacement was for my Pro-ject debut carbon which has no vertical alignment so thickness is important - this works perfectly. Static is reduced and this also contributes to deadening the rumble problem on this turntable - good purchase

I have been testing with various materials as turntable mat: felt - cork - rubber
I keep on preferring rubber
(tested with direct drive turntable and with belt drive turntable)
Rubber is the best material to avoid static energy
