Adjudicators comments (Bexley competitive festival) 2006

Absolutely gripping and totally unique. A difficult subject
handled well and told with emotion and fervour.

Product Description

An Undertaker's Diary is based on the diaries that the author kept during his 7 years as an undertaker. The stories are told 'through his eyes' and in a 'raw and down to earth way that will absorb the reader in each and every varied encounter with death. This is not for the 'fainted hearted' and contains gruesome and often disturbing accounts of tragedy and death from plane crashes to house fires, murders to hit and runs. If you have ever wanted to be a 'fly on the wall' at some of the most disturbing scenes imaginable. this is the book for you!

Unreadable 6 Feb 2012
By HH
Format:Kindle Edition
This is utterly 'unreadable' due to the 'authors' habit of putting every third or 'fourth' word like 'this'. I got about 5 pages 'in' before my ears started 'bleeding'. Whoever 'proofread' it should be made to go to each 'person' who bought this and 'apologise'.

In all seriousness, finding a typo in a book is like walking along a street and tripping over an uneven paving stone. Your concentration is gone, it is unprofessional and you end up concentrating on where the next one is, rather than what the book is actually saying.

Really disappointing 15 Jan 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Very poor value for money (even allowing I got discounted price). I read this book in just less than an hour. To me it was a book written to try and shock the reader with extremely graphic accounts of live maggots etc. I was left with the impression that this author had no respect for the trade of undertaking. As for the typing errors and poor grammar - shocking!!

This could be the finest book available on the Kindle store but unfortunately I'll never know as I've not managed to read beyond the first few pages. I accept that books which don't originate from the traditional model of publishing will have lower amounts of editorial input to them and I'm happy to accept quirky punctuation and so on if it means I can read something which I might not otherwise have been able to. However, the author's unique approach to the use of parentheses, quotation marks and line spacing make it pretty much impossible for me to read the book. I'm not sure if it's just the way the pages are formatted to display on the Android Kindle reader for my phone, but the text on each page appears centered with only four or five words on each line. I'm afraid I wouldn't recommend this book to anybody unless they are an English teacher who wishes to demonstrate to their pupils why punctuation is important.

This book is very badly written, with no solid format, makes me glad he doesn't work for me, he would make a better fisherman.
