I'd give this a miss if you do some exercise already (whether Pilates based or not). The workout on this DVD is extremely slow-paced, low-intensity, and you don't feel much muscle work, whether during the workout or afterwards. This was the very first Pilates video I tried and I didn't find it challenging at all, and after 2 or 3 attempts I moved onto Pilates Precision and Toning with Jennifer Kries, which was much more valuable for a Pilates introduction. The Power Within demonstrates just a few of the very basic Pilates moves, and you're left completely ignorant of the wealth of other Pilates exercises out there, something I realised only once I bought Precision and Toning and saw that there is so much more to Pilates than the little bit shown in this video. So if you're relatively fit and new to Pilates, go for something else, you will soon be bored with this one. However, if you have just recently started exercising and only are just starting to get fit again, then this would be a good way of easing back into an exercise routine without too much sudden physical effort.
