5.0 out of 5 stars Essential for your Exams 11 July 2011
By Shak
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is a must have revision guide that is concise, cheap and offers plenty of advice and guidance. It is suitable for all exam boards and specification. There is also practice questions and essays in the back of the book which really helps. It also explains how to embed quotes into your writing to make it flow more and sound more professional. This was a lot more helpful than my teacher and filled in for places he missed out. I have always found that in English lessons you "jump around" the content way too much making lessons more confusing than need be. But this book is like having a personal tutor, except at a fraction of the price!

This helped me in my English Literature exams and my grade sky rocketed from a low B to and A*.

I thoroughly recommend!

3.0 out of 5 stars Its OK... for a general overview! 15 Jan 2012
Format:Paperback
I am sitting the GCSE AQA 2010 English Literature Course and this is one of the available options. I ordered this book as they are known to aid the reader through the analysis. I was a bit disappointed when I bought the book as it was quite basic. It seemed to be quite childish, focusing on aesthetics and colour as oppose to content. The book itself is good at aiding your revision and gives a general overview but not specific analysis. York Notes Advanced are much more appropriate as they are designed for A- level but are great, even for GCSE. Though there is not an advanced version for this book... so this will have to do!

Generally: 3 Stars(It'll do the job... just)
Aesthetics: Nice
Content: Fairly basic but good for a general overview.

Used in schools - useful if your child is actually going to look at it. Worthless re-sale value - going for pence on eBay.
