Excellent book 2 Mar 2009
Excellent book, which explained a lot of mysterious tunnels, bridges and railway lines dotted around Liverpool and it's suburbs.
Each section is dedicated to the various railway companies that built and operated the lines running into the city and is comprehensively illustrated.
It also revealed lines that I never even knew existed, one example of which is the high level coal railway that branched off just before Sandhills. I discovered this book at Crosby library and kept it out for six months before being forced to buy my own copy!
Indispensible for anyone who has an interest in liverpool's railway history, or just wondered why this bridge or that tunnel existed, and where they went to.
