Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

Oscar Wilde's words are to be spoken wryly, with tongue firmly in cheek. Both Minnie Driver and Rupert Everett managed this perfectly in An Ideal Husband and you can hear it in the extracts of dialogue between tracks on this album. The same thinking also seems to have informed Charlie Mole's score, which constantly skips along at a jovial pace. As the honour-bound gentlemen trip themselves up into ever more convoluted inter-relationship word-games, the pace quickens. It's rather like having a pleasant waltz at play in the background which is on a slow build up to detonation ("First Night Party"). This is music to make you smile and make others wonder what you're up to. --Paul Tonks

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding appropriateness of music! 3 Feb 2001
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
This brilliant score has acheived all that could have been acheived. It portrays the elegance, grandeur and intimacy of the upper class in the London season. I hope this and the film give someone a good idea that the upper classes aren't just evil fox killers!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Soundtrack 29 Dec 2000
By Charity Bishop - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Reminicent of the film, the soundtrack has the same stirring moments as the movie and takes you back to the world of 18th Century England in style. With adorible little outtakes taken straight from the dialog, it spruces up an already awesome soundtrack! If you liked the movie, you'll love the music!
