Review

The book offers an immediately gripping story that will make you laugh and cry along with the characters . . . will make women everywhere weak at the knees. . . . An Enormously English Monsoon Wedding was a delight to read. It is inspirational, romantic, compelling and, most important of all, gives us a wonderful fairytale ending (Female First)

3.0 out of 5 stars not quite what i expected 12 Feb 2013
By danayla
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
I am an avid reader of Christina Jones and read her new book within a weekend, don't know if it has to do with a whole set of new characters, but personally I couldn't quite get in to it, sorry Christina, that saying it will not stop me from reading and re reading all of her novels, they cheer me up no end especially in the depths of a grey and cold winter.

4.0 out of 5 stars I liked it... 28 Dec 2013
By Cianta
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
But I didn't love it and struggled to finish it. The plot was interesting and well-researched but I think I was expecting it to be as humorous and quirky as Christina's previous books, all of which I absolutely adore, I found the characters readable but without the warmth and eccentricity of previous stories.

4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable but... 22 May 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I enjoyed this book, however it wasn't as good as some of Christina Jones' earlier books, like Seeing Stars and Hubble bubble etc.
It was a good easy holiday read. It would be lovely if she could write a few more of her books with the funny magic element........

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Fabulous Read From a Favourite Author 14 Feb 2013
Format:Hardcover
I truly adored this book. It is a romantic tale about a young couple planning a perfect wedding, the way they want it. Of course it doesn't always go the way they planned with all the twists and turns and friendly advice and "help" they are given which makes this a funny story and introduces the reader to new characters and villages.
I have never been disappointed with any of this authors books and simply loved this one. Just unfortunate we have to wait a long time for the next one but worth waiting for.

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful Read 23 May 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I was slightly worried before I read this book, as I knew Christina had started using new characters and a different village for it, but how silly of me. It was, of course, absolutely un-put-downable. The heroine is a very happy young lady planning her 'simple' wedding until her future parents-in-law come along saying they 'want a hand in the arrangements'.
From there on it becomes beautifully chaotic and one is absolutely desperate that things will work out - which, of course, they do.
And then - on the last page !!! Such a totally brilliant twist in the tale.
Thank you Christina, yet again, for a lovely, lovely book. (and hurry up with the next one!)

5.0 out of 5 stars Yet Another Super book from this great author. 19 Sep 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Funnily enough when I first read this book I was disappointed as it is a change from all her more recent stories. It took me a second read without the pre-concieved ideas about what it should be like for me to realise that it is every bit as good as all her others. A great light hearted read with super characters and lots of laughs. For anyone who hasn't tried Christina Jones you should definitely give it a go as you will not be disappointed. In my opinion she is better than Marian Keyes or Katie Fforde.

I have to say this one was a bit disappointing, nothing compared to other Christina Jones' novels! But it's readable anyway!
