If you're expecting Dostoevsky you're going to be disappointed. This is a Ripping Yarn in the purest sense of the word, and what it lacks in depth and (according to some reviewers, who I don't entirely agree with) character development, it more than makes up for in action packed Boys Own adventure.

I have purchased all of the triumvirate books, have read them end to end, and have not regretted a bit of it.

Is it a perfect Tolkien moment? No. But if you're a fan of rip-roaring gunslinging alternate timeline adventure, it's a damn good light-hearted holiday read.

An excellent debut from a young author, full of originality, action pace and plot.
I highly recommend this to readers of alternate history, war novels and those who enjoy discovering new talented writers.
As with any self published work, there are a few spelling errors etc, but it does not damage the enjoyment, and really should not put anyone off a debut novel of such depth.
A bargain at this kindle price.

Interesting, fast paced, action packed but spoiled slightly by none or very bad proof reading, missing words, duplicated words etc. Worth reading.

Highly enjoyable start to an excellent series that doesn't so much fly the Union Jack as have it tattooed onto it's jingoistic forehead.

Good heavy action, with a pretty female boffin, a spook, and an action hero as the three main leads all doing their part for the British Empire. Lots of Atlantean Technology, flying battleships and unsporting Johnny Foreigners of various types thrown into the mix.

An absolute bargain of a series.

Sit back, rest the Kindle on your knee and enjoy a damn good read. Its a Boys Own adventure story for adults and it has just about every technological gadget you can imagine. Fast paced , clever and very, very pleasing and there are two books to go! What more do you need?

A great read that I would recommend. To think though, Germany wasn't a credible threat to Britain in 1936and it was nearly a decade before they had jets but, it's still interesting to mix Atlantis into this.

Will be interesting to see how this pans out. In terms of the USA, it's interesting they attacking the UK in this book (spoiler) when they had drawn up plans to invade Britain in the '30's.

Good Read.

There are three books in this series. The concept is great and I loved the first book. I must admit that I felt that the second and third books were not as good as the first and drifted off into some rather distracting concepts - the last book seemed to be setting up further sequels in a kind of Steam Punk version of a Warhammer 40k style environment. Enjoyed reading the first book - bit disappointed with the second and third.
