Product Description
Review
An engaging premise, a tightly-constructed plot, fast-paced narrative and powerfully atmospheric scene-setting combine to make Zoe Stead's 'The Amulet of Vichalace' one of the strongest and most promising genre debuts of recent years. --Tom Holt

Synopsis
The day before Celeste Reignsway's twenty first birthday dawned much the same as any other. Being an orphan, doted on by her somewhat overprotective foster father, she had much to look forward to and her pleasant, seemingly uneventful life was everything that Celeste could ever have wished for. But nothing could have prepared her for the unearthly and horrifying events which would soon follow. After all, she had never known or even suspected that her world was so closely linked with another; a world much darker than her own where supernatural forces rule the city by night. Even when informed of the mysterious and violent nature of her parents' deaths, and her own miraculous survival as a mere baby, Celeste remained blissfully unaware of the nightmare that was about to unfold and change her life forever. "The Amulet of Vichalace" tells the story of this nightmare; of how one unexceptional young woman begins her ill-fated journey down a dark yet already well-trodden path and discovers that some questions were never meant to be answered.

I really enjoyed this - the characters were engaging, the plot gripped and there were plenty of surprises to keep me going right through to the end.

5.0 out of 5 stars Should be stocked in the US....., 9 May 2007
That overseas shipping time is annoying.

I'd anticipated this book for some time, and ordered it as soon as it came out. It took me all of 9 hours to finnish when it finally arrived. I couldn't put it down. The characters were dynamic and three demensional. The story was very sharp and succinct. Taking a mere 300 pages to tell what alot of popular authors overdescribe to the thousand page mark. It gave the book a sort of breathless feel, coloring the introductions and conversations w
