Book Description

The best-selling epic fantasy adventure story concludes!

Realizing they can no longer keep the future king safe, bodyguards Steve and Sarah escort the Lentarian prince, Mikal, back to his home world to not only determine the best course of action, but also to verify the king and queen haven’t become targets themselves.

In Mikal's home world, dragon raids are on the rise. The dwarves are preparing to go to war, and the evil sorcereress has managed to reach across time and space to attack Mikal on his protector's home world. Their only hope to save Mikal from Celestia and her minions lies with the recovery of a piece of an ancient talisman believed lost centuries ago. Having the ability to enhance the holder's jhorun, namely their magical talent, to unheard of levels, the amulet pieces must be found before they fall into the wrong hands.

But are they too late? Don’t miss the exciting final chapter in the best-selling Bakkian Chronicles!

5.0 out of 5 stars A really good fantasy read... 26 Feb. 2013
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
... but if only Jeffrey Poole had got someone to proof read it before publishing! The story line is excellent, the characters great, and some really great ideas come to life. However, just now and then a paragraph will come across in a childish way, and you will find spelling or grammatical errors, which tends to annoy and pull you from this fantasy world back into reality. Jeffrey, if you are reading this, I would be more than willing to be your proof reader! Just let me know....

5.0 out of 5 stars A Grand Finale of fighting evil. 4 Jun. 2013
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This final book of the trilogy is the real page turner of adventure and science fiction. All things come to a very satisfying finale which rings true to the story and characters. It was really disappointing that the story had ended, it ruined my weekend but also enhanced my weekend( we are never satisfied are we?) Only absolutely necessary jobs got done otherwise my nose was buried in my Kindle reading this trilogy. I will watch out for more from this talented author.

    5.0 out of 5 stars It's a real page turner 9 Feb. 2014
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The first few pages were a bit slow and I wondered where the thrilling story was but shortly after it came swooping in. I find myself compelled to read more and more each time, I'm already 68% through the book and can't wait to find out more. Is the Royal family safe? Will Steve and Sarah triumph? I find it hard to put the book down and tell myself 'just another page'.........

    4.0 out of 5 stars Matured 28 Jun. 2013

This trilogy has been easy reading, my first review said the writing was naive. Since then Jeffrey Poole has matured in his writing, still a little way to go but he will be worth the wait.
Great story and concept, can't wait for more.

    4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent. 18 Jan. 2014

Finishes the trilogy off nicely. Amulet of Aria shouldn't be read if you haven't read the others, as you really wouldn't understand some of the terminology, but for those of us who have been on the journey, this is a great final stop

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read 12 Mar. 2013
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Very much a classic fantasy novel with a modern feel. Extremely well written, good characters and the first series in a long time that is very hard to put down. It doesn't take itself too seriously and is a fun, engaging read.

3.0 out of 5 stars The final part of the trilogy... 20 Jan. 2013
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Ok, I've read all three books in the Bakkian Chronicles, and I still can't bring myself to give it more than 3 stars.

Don't get me wrong I enjoyed the series (why else would I read all three?), but even in this final instalment NO-ONE is in any real danger. The traditional epic final battle was there, but the worst thing to happen is some poor non named soldier (subsequently never mentioned again) gets his legs broken.
Not that I want everyone to die (George RR Martin has a lot to answer for in my opinion), but I struggle to really feel for characters that I know will get through everything without a scratch.

I want to feel attached to characters, I remember the pain as a child of reading the Hobbit and weeping when my favourite dwarves died. As an avid reader of A Song of Ice and Fire, I sometimes fear to turn the page in case the seemingly harmless situation I'm reading about turns into a bloodbath, depriving me of my most beloved characters (Ned...oh Ned).

The Bakkian Chronicles simply didn't make me FEEL anything for the characters, as I knew that they'd just muddle through.
I enjoyed it, I laughed in places and liked the concept of the johrun, but when I put the book down ( I forgot about it. The characters, plot, everything.
When I read Tolkien, Martin, Hobbs, Feist, even C.S Lewis...I get attached to the characters (even the bad ones) and every time I pick up the book, I'm desperate to find out their fate.
That just didn't happen with these books.

A valiant first effort Mr Poole, you clearly have ability as a writer. As a reader however, we just need a bit more.

This book was very enjoyable, following the story line well, each book following the previous one exactly, so one knows exactly what to expect of each character.
