Post-Apocalyptic Cultures,

Patrick Tilley takes his Amtrak Wars series a step further in this, the 2nd book.Having established the cultures of the Plainfolk and the Federation, the Iron Masters are now introduced, and their relationship with the Plainfolk shown. As the other cultures do, the Iron Masters have a link to the past that makes them all the more believable. However, this book is more about the all-seeing nature of the Federation, with spies, lies and deceit at every turn. Despite the reader being able to see behind the scenes, we are still left guessing at how much they really know. A well constructed future riddled with intrigue that makes a compulsive read. Recommended.
