3.0 out of 5 stars Coheed and Cambria's Saga V1 , 29 Oct 2008
By Lee Swift (England, UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I would just like to say I'm a huge Coheed and Cambria fan, so I couldn't wait to get my hands on their first volume of the epic saga behind their inspiring concept albums.

Unfortunately, I was quite dissapointed with what Claudio delivered. I think the story has huge potential and has a successful sci-fi recipe already mixed in with the story of a young boy with a huge destiny amongst a galaxy spanning conflict. Also, the artwork is really good and the quality of the paper is phenominal.

Although the storyline has potential, the flow of the story between issues and even between scenes is terrible. It feels rushed and as such, scenes jump sporadically between each other and some of the dialogue is wooden. For example, if someone told you that your thoughts were manufactured, I'm sure you would have asked them to prove it, or at least ask them a boatload of questions, but Coheed never questions Deftinwolfs motives; he just accepts it as given and goes away to comit a terrible deed after only one conversation!

I will buy future volumes, but not based on the work I have seen here, it will be purely on the terrific music the band have created.

I would recommend this product to those who want to know the story behind Coheed and Cambria, but be warned, it's no Marvel Masterpiece.

2.0 out of 5 stars Just awfull, 15 Sep 2009
By M. M. Thomas "Edmund Dantes" (UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
First off, I am a huge Coheed fan and a huge fan of graphic novels. So I really wanted this to work. Sadly, this is one of the worst examples of a comic book I have yet come across. The artwork is great, the paper quality and everything else to do wth presentation is spot on.. but the dialogue and the character depth, how the plot plays out is utterly rubbish. Sorry.
