Lovely, easy to make,

This book was worth the wait. It is even more gorgeous than 'Amigurumi world' if that is at all possible. I've already made 2 projects (panda baby rattle;flower stroller toy) and is working on the 3rd (turtle with eggs!). Clear instructions and easy to follow patterns. Even suitable for total beginners as all the stitches used are illustrated at the back. I can't get enough of these gorgeous crocheted toys!

I bought this book a little while ago and have so far made one of the baby turtles and a egg shell for it (as seen on front of book) which is a favourite with my duaghter. I've also made a pear 'box' with a snail to go inside and I've started the Tiger and seen on the cover. Everything I've made so far has been really quick (make in one evening) and simple, although I have picked some of the smaller items, so others would probably take a a bit longer, but all the patterns appear to be very similar so if you can do one you can do them all. Very basic crochet required. I've only used chain and double stitch (single stitch as described in the book which follows American crochet terminology) as far as I remember.Because the patterns are all very similar it does start to feel a little tedious making items however. Its great if you simply want to make toys, but if you are after inspiring crochet techniques this is not the book for you. However, having said that the designs are easily adapted to make your own patterns. I've used the patterns to make a pump to go on a home made blood pressure monitor I made this week and I've also made a little baby chick and a frog using the same technique (which I didn't know beforehand). One of the main problems is choosing what to make as there are so many lovely toys including, a tea set and biscuits, a baby bunny and her mummy, a baby with a nappy, a tool set and various mobiles and rattles for babies to name but a few. There is bound to be something to please all. A lovely book.

I eagerly awaited the arrival of this book and was not disappointed! There are so many adorable projects that I really look forward to making. My 5 year old daughter has already picked out several favourites that I *have* to make *now*, including the Mummy turtle that lays eggs (one of which hatches a baby turtle!), the baby doll with its own removable nappy and the adorable tea set complete with biscuits! The patterns are well written and perfectly clear. You only need to know the basics of crochet to make these projects and they work up quickly. This is certainly destined to become one of my favourite amigurumi books!
