A must for all text to speech users for any reason e.g. autism, speech impairment etc
Brilliant, user friendly and easy to use and understand user interface; has a scroll bar for volume and text size.
The voice which reads it out, although is American....haven't yet gone to.settings to.see if there are alternatives...wanted to write a review straight away it is that brilliant!! The voice is clear and runs at a perfect speed.
Brilliant, out does the software I have on my iPad by miles! (This is on my kindle fire HDX) and only cost me 62 credits (62 pence!!)
Very cheap price for a good quality piece of software :-)

5.0 out of 5 stars astounding!! 7 Feb 2013

This app is amazing. I bought it to use with a child that I work with as a speech pathologist but I can't stop playing with it! I can't wait to show it to everyone I know. I almost didn't buy it but I figured hey its only a dollar. Wow! Was I surprised at how wonderfully it works! You can also add question marks at the end of your utterances and it will make the intonation rise at the end. This is the best app I've bought and the first one I've ever given a review. If you are a speech path looking for an augmentative communication app, I can heartily recommend this app!

It don't madder if you NEED it for some reason you can't talk or you just get it for fun. It works great. The voice is easily understood and pronounced the words great. I got it just for fun so I could say some bad boy thing's to my girlfriend and I had a blast doing it. Bad words good words all work. Funny to just play with and great for the people or who actually need it. Great job on the app.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good, needs just a few tweaks 29 May 2013

This is the best app I've found in the Kindle store for text to voice production. There is a real need for communication devices for people with dysarthria or other physical speech issues, people whose literacy is intact and who don't need stick figures and pictures to communicate functionally.

Anyway, strengths:
-Lets you store phrases
-Lets you wipe history efficiently.
-Speaking voice is OK.

Things I'd love to see in a later edition:
-Female voice
-Ability to change speed and pitch of voice
-Predictive word finding or phrasing. Like if I type "Give me a..." it could suggest common words.

I understand that some of these attributes are more complex than others. It's a wish list.

Thanks for making this app!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great App for the Voice Impaired!!! 16 May 2013

I suffer from a disease which affects my vocal cords among other things. My volume is very low and my pronunciation is virtually unintelligible at times. So I have been looking for an app that would allow me to input a phrase and have the app read it for me. Most other apps only read text messages or web pages, etc. I installed this app on my DROID RAZR M with no problems. This app allows me to store phrases and recall them for later use. Very easy to use. Not great for conversations because of the time it takes to input the text. But is perfect for situations requiring short responses e.g. has worked perfectly for me at restaurants ordering a meal. Simplistic but very functional.
