A Quick Reference Guide To The Laws Most Overlooked In The Bible!

Deuteronomy 4:2, 6-7, 27:9-10, Numbers 15:15 – “Moses then said to all Israel, 'Be silent, Israel, and listen. You must listen to the voice of Yahweh your God and observe the commandments and laws which I am laying down for you today.
“The Law is permanent for all future generations. You must add nothing to what I command you, nor subtract anything from it, but keep the commandments of Yahweh your God just as I lay them down for you.”
“Keep them, put them into practice, and other nations will exclaim, 'No other people is as wise and prudent as this great nation! And what great nation has laws and customs as upright as the entirety of The Law which I am laying down for you today?”

When it comes to Christian apologetics, there is a vast grey area filled with thousands of interpretations on what should still be observed in modern Christianity, and what should not. Most of our Conservative-Right politicians want to make these commandments into government laws, and many agree, though they just can’t see what all the fuss is about. A popular argument made by many denominations of Christianity when questioned on the morality of the Old Testament commandments is “When Jesus came to Earth, (or, when Jesus died and ascended) it negated all of the old testament laws.” The problem with this is that they will still hold dearly to the infamous Ten Commandments, which are still a part of the Old Testament, not to mention Jesus states that he did not come to abolish the laws of the Old Testament (Matthew 5:17-18). For outsiders, and many insiders as well, it can be confusing to know where any of your Christian neighbors, friends, or family stands on any section of the Bible, particularly when many of them don't even know what the Bible actually says about most topics. Whatever your reasons are for wanting to brush up on your Bible – be it to strengthen your fundamentalism, or whether you’re well on your way to atheism – here are the commandments of the Old and New Testaments for your reading pleasure, broken down into a convenient table of contents for quick referencing on the fly.

This little book of rules is kind of amazing. The contradictions, the nastiness and the plain silliness of many of these laws proves to me, once again, that being a follower of the Bible is never going to be in my future.
