If all of the peanut butter in the world suddenly vanished, I wouldn't want to be a part of this world any more. If Jif got bought out by another company, I'd go Rambo on whoever took over.
Simply put, peanut butter is one of my favorite things in the world.
Just look at the description for this Razzle Dazzle flavor- wild honey, dark chocolate, white cocoa butter drops AND natural raspberry flavor. I don't know about you, but I love all 4 of those things, and when combined with peanut butter, it sounds like there's no possible way for anything to go wrong, right?
Whenever I open a jar of peanut butter, the first thing I do is get in close as I tear away the seal so I can smell it right as the scent emerges. Razzle Dazzle here smelled incredible. All kinds of different things mixed into one aroma got me hungry, so I got a spoon and dug in. Well...I tried to dig in, I should say. This stuff is thick! As thick as the girls from a certain Sir Mix-a-lot song. If you have a way of heating up the jar beforehand, I suggest doing so. As others have mentioned, spreading this stuff on toast is just going to tear up the bread. The taste though, is very weird. There are a ton of white cocoa butter drops in the peanut butter, and while I -can- taste everything else, the white cocoa beats out everything else except the peanut butter. The raspberry taste is very light, the wild honey kicks in as an aftertaste, and the dark chocolate...man, that was a bit of a downer to not taste much of it.
I'm really disappointed that this peanut butter wasn't as good as I hoped it would be. The thickness is what really kills it for me. That and the price. There's no way I'm going to pay that much for a single jar. I'll gladly stick with good ol' crunchy Jif or honey roasted Skippy over this kind and save a few bucks too. PB Crave is worth trying out, but I can't say many positive things for it. Maybe use it for cookies or something?
