AMERICAN GODDESSES
"If you're looking for pure fun and entertainment, this is the book for you. If you love strong women, super-heroes and happy endings, this is the book for you." ~ author Kathy Lynn Hall, RED MOJO MAMA

"Mind-blowing, action filled and on par with some of the greatest movies of all times. This book will keep you turning pages until the end." ~ reviewer Melanie Carrico, HAVE YOU HEARD MY BOOK REVIEW

SUMMARY
When two small-town women find themselves with nearly unlimited powers of mind and body, their lives get complicated. Things turn nasty as a shadowy organization attempts to use Megan and Trish for their own evil ends, and destroy them, their town and the USA in the process.

"This author painted, with this novel, a picture of ordinary women in extraordinary circumstances and could not have done better. This was simply one of my top reads of the year.

You MUST pick this book up. There's no recommending or not recommending here, it's a requirement. There are few authors I pick up on their release day but the next book in this series, the day it goes on sale, I'm there." ~ reviewer Tammy Dewhirst, RABID READERS BOOK REVIEWS

5.0 out of 5 stars AN UNFORGETABLE DEBUT NOVEL! 23 Aug 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
A contemporary doorway into a "possible future" - doesn't get much better than that!

I love a book that has a fast pace. If you also like this, this is the book for you.

This book will take you on a journey of many emotions. Two protagonists, Megan and Trish are likable and you won't soon forget either one of them.

A must read! Very well written debut novel.

5.0 out of 5 stars American Goddesses 14 Jun 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
A fast paced unstoppable novel which had me hooked from the very opening lines. If you enjoy lots of action and exciting twists and turns then this is the novel for you. The female protagonists are fearless and fun, leaving you wistfully wishing they were real. It is well written and convincing but be warned once you pick it up you won't be able to put it back down again.

5.0 out of 5 stars American Goddesses by Gary R. Henry 18 Oct 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Dr. Susan Tzin-Zin is the head of the University's Immunology Research Department. She is trying to find a way to obtain mental control over our bodies and the physical environment. The amazing thing is... she achieved this goal. Her test subjects, Megan Harris, 48 and Patricia Reilly, 22 are now invincible. They can work with the local fire and police to take care of really bad situations. They are both adjusting to their new status when "The Agency" takes notice. The Agency planned pranks for money that affected millions of lives. Their newest one involved the Goddesses. After going through some horrible things in their personal lives, the women begin to settle into their new roles. The Agency chooses this time to strike. They make use of a Russian woman who was a test subject on a similar matter. Things really begin to go sour for the Goddesses. Just like all new weapons, someone will want it for evil. Will they be able to rise above the challenges they've been through and continue their good works? Only with the help of a few friends.
Mind-blowing, action filled and on par with some of the greatest movies of all times. This book will keep you turning pages until the end. I literally read this one in about 2 hrs and then re-read it 3 more times. I love the characters! They are so well developed and you could see them in any town USA. The story flows in such a way you'll never find a slow spot or a lull in the action. Gary R. Henry put together a story perfect for the movies. I can visualize the colorful clothing and the special effects. WOW! I've never had such a clear picture of heroines who make you wish they were real. GET THIS BOOK!

I found no issues with this one.

I gave this one 5 out of 5 books. Wonder Woman eat your heart out!

5.0 out of 5 stars Freaky Supernatural Fantasy 21 Sep 2012
By MG
Format:Kindle Edition
AMERICAN GODDESSES by Gary Henry revolves around two interesting women, Megan and Trish, who develop amazing superpowers after a medical experiment.

The book is filled with an abundance of titillating, eye-popping action sequences that where fun to read. Trish and Megan ultimately discover possessing superpowers comes with a high price, and they must force themselves to use their powers to help others. Yes, there are times both are tested when dealing with undesirable personal problems.

It was a pleasure to read a story about two strong, realistic women, who do their best to save the world from the diabolical psycho, Melnikov. I enjoyed this tale and appreciated all the unusual twists and turns that kept me guessing to the end. I look forward to more strange stories from this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exciting, gripping feelgood book 13 May 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Imagine a world where delicate, tiny, kind hearted women can crush concrete in their fingers, then pulverise several huge bad guys without missing a beat, and even fly through the air like superman. It sounds a strange scenario, but Gary Henry has achieved this convincingly in his excellent book American Goddesses. The book is a celebration of the victory of good over evil, and there are plenty of side issues, not least the Goddess women's personal lives, their husbands and boyfriends, their personal problems, relationships, life in Soviet Russia, the manipulation of the essential 'goodness' of the powerful women by unscrupulous forces, as well as the possibilities of psychic transportation.

It's a feelgood book in the best sense, in that there are lovely heroines you can like, and who, unfettered by any kind of physical weakness, can literally do anything they like, but, because they are basically kind well intentioned individuals, they never abuse their power. If the idea of bad men beating up and abusing women just because they're stronger makes you angry, then this is a book for you. If you're intrigued by the idea of a sexy, interesting and likeable women who care about painting their nails, yet can bash a bad man's head through the wall without blinking, you'll also love it. It's clear that Gary Henry appreciates the intuitive kindness and decency of women, likes them, and posits the interesting idea that this goodness should be magnified and harnessed in a positive way for the benefit of mankind, by giving them superlative physical powers. I'd say that this book would appeal equally to men and to women.
