Product Description

American Crow is a quest novel, a hardboiled mystery that follows the exploits of maverick London tracer, Sibelius Blake, as he heads to the U.S to find a missing British teenager, a wayward young girl who may just have wandered into some serious trouble.

An international crime & mystery best-seller and e-thriller book of the month, the novel pays homage to the archetypal characters encountered in old-fashioned story-telling, and similarly is written with a pinch of caricature, a sprinkling of irony and black humour, whilst highlighting the importance of social and environmental concerns within the fast-paced narrative.

Driven by his own loss in the story, the anti-hero Blake, soon finds himself on a road-trip of redemption as he carries out his desperate search for the girl, while discovering some deeply disturbing secrets along the way that were probably best left uncovered in the dark, and sometimes brutal Appalachian wilds...

Fans of Lee Child, Elmore Leonard & James Patterson may enjoy this read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic!!! 2 Dec 2013

A fantastic start to a new series. I read this in one sitting as I found it absolutely enthralling. Written in the first person (which I like) the main character Blake draws you into a well crafted plot and makes you feel for him and the environment. I can't wait for the next book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pacy and inspector intriguing 22 Mar 2014

for me, this has a lot going for - it moves along fast and the detective, drawn back in after retirement, is attractive and smart - so what there are multiple elements i've read before and some contrivance in the relentless forward drive. and there are quite a few spots where credibility is strained - makes no difference, i enjoyed reading it fast and light - recommended this is also one of a series ...

5.0 out of 5 stars Unputdownable! More please! 22 Mar 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
Just finished reading this great thriller, and it's not often these days that I get so utterly hooked into the narrative. American Crow has everything. Sibelius Blake with a recent tragedy keeping him going. Sexual tension, setttings so real I was there, and an uncluttered plot which made it all the more memorable. What a film this would make. An author to watch!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fast paced, all action page turner 17 Mar 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The best feeling in the world is when you take a chance on a book and get more than you bargained for, that's what happened when I read Jack Lacey's American Crow. From the opening page I was hooked and could not stop reading. I instantly liked the character of Blake, was willing him on every way and genuinely felt sorry when the book was at its end. Both hero and villain were perfectly at odds with one another, incidental characters were all rich and fantastically written, I honestly felt as though I was seeing this book instead of reading.

Simply put, give the book a read, you will not be able to put it down and I for one cannot wait to read more from Jack Lacey.

4.0 out of 5 stars Farfetched fun 24 Feb 2014

I let the pace of the plot carry me forward and blind me to the increasing lack of credibility. I enjoyed the ride and would happily recommend as an easy holiday read.

Jack has painted a visual delight with his words . The pace was excellent and the book completely distracting to my day! With Redemption, survival, and adventure at its heart - the plot weaves these threads together seamlessly make this a cracking read that keeps you on your toes.... And thankful for your fingernails!

I could not stop reading this book and had to know the ending, even though it annoyed my most of the way through as being incredibly far-fetched, with a few too many coincidences and lucky escapes. Not sure I would read this author again but it was a good read for a freebee.
