Drama/Thriller starring (and written by) Lou Diamond Phillips (La Bamba; Young Guns; Courage Under Fire).
Phillips, plays aspiring though as yet unsuccessful writer Mitchell Osgood who is supporting himself by running a second hand bookshop, whilst also caring for his ailing father (Haing S. Ngor - The Killing Fields).
Osgood's dreams of being a famous writer are constantly thwarted when a book he's written is rejected by the editors, so when the psychopathic killer Albert Merrick (Clancy Brown - Bad Boys; Extreme Prejudice) is released from prison after 15 years, Osgood believes that writing down the history of his crimes could be his big break ...trouble is Merrick is a changed man and just wants to go straight and keep out of trouble.
All of which though highly commendable is of no use to Osgood because he wants to experience what it's like to be Merrick..and for that he needs him back to his old ways !.
