Strong and Durable Cold-Rolled Steel Construction
Constructed from durable cold-rolled steel, this mount will support up to 200-pounds. Cold rolling is a process where steel is formed without the use of heat. Heated steel is much more malleable and easy to work with, but the heat process degrades the metal. Cold-rolled steel, however, makes for a much stronger, much more durable TV mount that will keep your TV securely attached to the wall.
Powder Coated for Healthy, Care-Free Maintenance
All AmazonBasics mounts are powder coated, which means that a layer of dry "paint" is applied to the metal parts and baked to form a permanent outer "skin." I have a number of flat screen wall-mounts in the house. They range from the one in the Lounge that tilts, twists and basically allows you to place the screen in any position you can imagine. The cost for this was 300. This one is around 30 and is far more basic. However it does directly compare with one or two simpler wall mounts I have and I replaced one of these with this mount.
On the PLUS side, it was easy to fit, well made, secured the TV to it securely (unlike one of two others I have come across).
On the down side I was stunned by the weight. It's rediculously heavy I thought. It probably weighs 2 or 3 times my main wall mount. So although TV's have dropped 20-30Kgs for the big 50-60" screens (My 50 was 50Kg 8 years ago) the wall-mounts have piled on the pounds.
It's probably NOT the best offering if you are securing a screen to plasterboard, this definately needs an external brick wall due to the weight. However if you do want something for an external wall, then for the money this is perfect.
Please ... if you buy based on reviews don't forget to vote.

Electronics shops charge a fortune for these items (that's where their profits lie - rather than the TV's themselves), so it was lovely to try out this great value alternative from Amazon Basics. The unit was simple to install (although this was done by a professional to prevent me fudging it), and has a built-in spirit level which is a great idea.
The only downside for me is that when viewed from the side, the TV looks to be quite far away from the wall (rear of TV is 3" from the wall). I appreciate that this is required in order for the mount to tilt vertically (in case you sit lower than the TV), however, my Panasonic Plasma has a curved rear design, which makes it look like its really quite far away off the wall. Anyway, its just a small point but isn't noticable from the front.

Given that wall brackets for flat screen TVs can cost three figures, it is difficult to argue a case against this bargain-priced TV stand. It's not the most aesthetically pleasing piece of hardware and is large and heavy. The tilt action is barely worth mentioning (just 15 degrees). But for something that is at once solid, simple to install and cheap, there is no comparison.

Solid as a rock

Take your time and it is brilliant
We have had a 50" Plasma. Fitted on our Fire breast (Fire has been removed)and as we put in the Title read the instruction and if fits great.
