As many people have said in previous reviews for this, and other similar products, digital signals are not susceptible to signal degradation in the same way that analogue signals are. What this means is, whilst the quality of the connectors and cabling can affect the picture quality of analogue signals such as those found in SCART or Component, the same cannot be said for HDMI.
Therefore, don't be conned into purchasing any digital cabling that is advertised as being 'premium' or 'super high quality' through the use of precious metals and/or several additional layers of insulation. Many, but of course not all, sales assistants in Dixons / Currys will probably protest loudly at the above.
And on to the product. It arrived in Amazon's 'Frustration Free Packaging' and I can't think of a better name for it. Like many people, I'm a technical nerd and buy a great deal of what my girlfriend would call 'electrical crap' from Amazon. I'm so used to receiving goods in vacuum packaged, heat sealed armour that I keep a craft knife handy to open the packages - and a pack of plasters to repair my hands afterwards. Not the case here, just a neat little cardboard box and a cable coiled up inside.
As for the functionality, it does exactly what it says. It's as long as it says it is, it carries a signal from one HDMI port to another and I'm very pleased with it. Why pay any more than this?
