DVD+R offers a write-once-only format with a storage life intended for storing videos and archiving important business or personal data. Compared with CD-Rs, DVD+Rs offer more storage space and faster write times, making them the natural choice for preserving media and other large files.
Each AmazonBasics DVD+R disc can record up to two hours of DVD+quality video programming. A single DVD+R can also hold three hours of VHS-quality video or more than 60 hours of MP3 audio.
DVD-R Compatibility
There are two types of recordable DVD discs available. Almost all recent DVD players and drives can handle both burned DVD-R and DVD+R discs, but some older players can only read either one format or the other. It is important to check your player’s manual to determine which DVD type it supports.
16x Write Speed and Organic Dye: Built for Fast, Accurate, Quality Writing
AmazonBasics DVD+R discs enable fast write speeds from 2.4x to 16x (16x is the maximum; burning speed will fluctuate) for quick and clean data transfer. (To take full advantage of these speeds, your DVD burner must burn at speeds of at least 16x. Consult your computer or DVD burner product manual for this information.)
At 16x, transfer speed translates as 21,60 MB/s, which means that you can burn a full disc in less than four minutes. The organic dye used on the writing side of these DVD+Rs provides stable writing at high speeds for reliable and accurate finished discs.

If I want dual layer, printable, lightscribe or RW I'll pay more accordingly. But for good quality disks at a price that's right, this does the job.

I bought these discs a while ago and have just finished the batch. They were good value for money and I haven't found fault with any of the discs. One thing I do have to point out is that when using Nero burning program I could only burn at 4x. the options for 8x and 16x weren't even highlighted which meant that these discs couldn't burn at a higher speed. so other than it taking a little longer to burn the discs worked fine. Great value for money and dependable.

I've recorded from more than half of my 100 discs without problems. At about twelve pence per disc they represent excellent value. Easy to write on the smooth/mirroresque surface with an appropriate disc writing pen. I was weary of changing from a supermarket own-brand which always worked and easily available with shopping but significant difference in cost was worth a try. Cheap, reliable and easily stored.

Terrible Discs
I am very disappointed with these discs. The failure rate has been around 50% ... and many more are unreadable after burning. A complete waste of money.

Brilliant product
