Product Description

Over 62,000 people have called on Amazon to end poverty pay in 2014 - but Amazon has yet to take our demand seriously so we've brought it direct to amazon.co.uk.

7.65 is the living wage rate across the UK outside London where most of Amazon's warehouses are located. That's all it needs to commit to paying to end poverty wages.

Why not review this product below and let Amazon know that its time to pay the human cost of its operations?

With billions in UK sales each year, Amazon has more than enough money to pay its workers wages they can live on. Amazon has been outed for treating its workforce like undignified robots, from unfair sack-if-you're-sick policies to allegedly warning workers off joining unions that could help them fight for their rights. Paying living wages won't solve all Amazon's problems, but it will mean workers across the country can afford the bare essentials of life.

Amazon, it's time to pay up!

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding! 11 Jun 2014
A great idea and perfectly reasonable demand. Amazon, please set a decent example - i's not as if you're not already paying ridiculously low amounts of tax on your turnover, surely you can at least afford to treat your staff fairly?

5.0 out of 5 stars Pay your workers a living wage, PAY YOUR TAXES 11 Jun 2014
Amazon employs its workers in the UK, not Luxembourg and uses the infrastructure in the UK, not in Luxembourg, to transport and deliver its parcels. PAY YOUR WORKERS A LIVING WAGE, PAY YOUR TAXES IN THE UK.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unsurprisingly popular! 11 Jun 2014
I'm not surprised this title was so popular that Amazon had to take it down and for all the previous reviews to be unfortunately deleted in the process - such a clear and reasonable (dare I say it, humane) request, people are rightly going wild for it!

Sort it out Amazon.

5.0 out of 5 stars brilliant idea 11 Jun 2014
wouldn't it be brilliant if the biggest companies used their strength to provide really good jobs, jobs that pay living wages enabling more people to afford a roof over their heads and food on the table - not just fat bonuses for bosses regardless of what's happening.

5.0 out of 5 stars Shocking 11 Jun 2014
Come on Amazon, respond to this perfectly reasonable request on behalf of your staff, from your customers. You have a responsibility to provide fair pay.

5.0 out of 5 stars About time! 11 Jun 2014
Come on Amazon. Don't take away freedom of speech as well as not paying your staff a decent, living wage.

1.0 out of 5 stars The decent thing to do!!!! 11 Jun 2014
Your turn over is immense so why not pay the people who make that turn over possible a decent living wage?
If you and other big companies also paid the correct amount of tax this country would be on it's way to being great again!!!

I'm boycotting Amazon until they improve pay and conditions. Until then, I'll be buying my books elsewhere, even if it's more expensive.
