The cover is great, a good solid leather cover in a pleasing shade of brown which feels absolutely quality in hand, with tight stitching and the same microfibre interior as the previous gen one and is clearly made to a very high standard. I also have the brown leather cover for my kindle with keyboard and this continues in the same vain. A very good quality product. Keeps my kindle nice and safe and free form scrathes and other items floating around that may damage it (looking at you bunch of keys!)
However, I feel the same about this as the last one, it is very expensive, almost half the cost of the kindle itself. As mentioned I bought this, and I have bought the last one for my kindle keyboard and it is a very good premium cover and so I don't feel ripped off but.......
It's like buying an iphone for £400 and spending £200 on the cover, albeit a slight excageration just to make my point.
Jeff Bezos mentioned that Amazon was producing premium products at non-premium prices and that Amazon was working hard to sell it for less. However when you actually look at not just the kindle covers but other products made by Amazon (Amazon Basics are surprisingly premium) the prices are also premium.
Overall a brilliant cover which I would buy again tomorrow. I just wish it was a touch cheaper which is why I gave it 4 stars not 5.

My kindle cover arrived today, about a month after the kindle itself even though both were ordered at the same time. No matter, it's here now. The cover looks nice and, it's true, it doesn't add bulk and the cover folds back nicely in case you want to read with one hand. But... that also means that the cover doesn't stay shut. There's nothing to stop the cover opening up in your bag or pocket, and something getting inside to scratch the screen. Given the price, this is pretty lamentable. I feel better about leaving the kindle around the house, given that the screen is covered, but I think I will need an elastic band or something to bind the cover shut when I am out and about. That does kind of detract from the lovely tan leather effect, but there you go. I can't help feeling this is a detail that Apple would not have overlooked, had they been the designers of this product.

Shocked is the best word to describe my feeling towards this case. Compared to the Kindle 3G keyboard case which feels superb and solid, this new case feels cheap and plastic. I cannot believe they charge 30 pounds for this when it must have cost 5 pounds to make. The new Kindle is wonderful but the case for it is pathetic!
It has no strap to keep the front flap closed - I have to use an elastic band to do that. It makes my awesome new kindle look really pathetic.
I recommend that no-one buys this case and rather look for another alternative as you will only be disappointed by this. C'mon Amazon, you can do far better than this!!!

Just Right
Excellent and eminently fit for purpose, I have no difficulty with closing it and keeping it closed without any elastic bands or other extraneous objects!!!

Delightful cover
