1.0 out of 5 stars Causes Kindle to Freeze 19 Dec 2010
By M. Dunn
I have had my kindle replaced for freezing / rebooting problems. However, the replacement was worse. Rebooted 4 or 5 times a day, and would freeze every day. Spoke to support who said there was a software patch coming out in the next few days. That was about a week ago. Since then I have read about faulty cases causing this problem. I didn't really believe it, but removed the kindle from my case to see it it would improve things. To my surprise, the kindle has worked perfectly ever since. Just to prove it, I put the kindle back in the case, and it froze within 4 hours. So my advice is not to buy this case until it is fixed. I am awaiting feed back from Amazon.

1.0 out of 5 stars Made my Kindle go faulty 30 Nov 2010
I had to return this because it made my Kindle reboot, freeze and turn itself on at random. Googling shows this is not an isolated incident: must be related either to the hinges contacting something inside (or possibly stressing a circuit board) or to the cover pressing on the front buttons when closed - though that shouldn't make a difference when it's turned off. And yes it's overpriced, though not as much as the soft BUILT cover I got instead.

4.0 out of 5 stars Smell 14 Sep 2010
Verified Purchase
The leather also smells nice !

Construction quality is excellent.

I have had the case for two weeks already, Kindle arrived today.

The two have now consummated their relationship and are living very happily together, they are truly made for each other.

One star lost because I would have liked to pay a little less.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but a little overpriced 19 Sep 2010
By Jenny A
My leather cover arrived yesterday.
In general Im pleased, it too a few seconds to attach my kindle, its a good quality, well made product but as others have said very overpriced.
I ordered the 'steel blue' and am disappointed that its not the colour which is advertised but darker.
I think £20 would be a much more appropriate price for this product but Im not unhappy with it. After all, if youve paid for your kindle you wont want it scratched etc
Id rather have had a different colour now though, rather disappointed with the misrepresentation of the shade in the pics against what actually got supplied

3.0 out of 5 stars Does the job, but stupidly expensive. 25 Sep 2010
There's not a lot to say about these covers other than that they're exactly as described and do the job they're supposed to. However I can't see why they need to be so ridiculously expensive. I've had leather cases for other electronic devices that have cost under a tenner and don't feel any lower in quality. However, I suppose it could be worse, you could have to pay another twenty quid for a little light on it. Oh, hang on...

5.0 out of 5 stars Replace that little black book with a blue one! 25 Nov 2010

Easy to find if put down your Kindle down anywhere as colour so different.Yes,the covers are a little expensive at first glance but well worth buying. Why would you spend this amount on a Kindle then not bother to protect it.Strong outer cover, easy to insert your Kindle (once you read instructions),elastic binding to keep cover closed, it's secure and safe from knocks and scratches.Good job, because I throw all manner of things into my handbag without a thought. So if you get a kindle, get a cover.Lots of funky colours to choose from. I would highly recommend this item. Kindle Leather Cover, Steel Blue (Fits 6" Display, Latest Generation Kindle)

I originally ordered a Duragadget 'genuine leather' case for my kindle 3, which proved to be of poor workmanship and difficult to use. I didn't expect high quality work for £11, but this was particularly poorly designed and arrived with stitching already coming undone. DURAGADGET New Red Genuine Leather Case/Cover With Adjustable Stand For New 2010 Amazon Kindle 3, Amazon Kindle 3 Case, Amazon Kindle 3g case, Amazon Kindle Wi-Fi Case, 6" Display, Kindle Graphite, Latest Generation Quite a contrast to the 'real' kindle case I subsequently ordered from Amazon. I still feel that £30 is relatively expensive, but I cannot fault either the workmanship or the usability of the product.

The leather is fairly stiff and hardy - think an old-school leather bound Bible rather than boots - with a pebbled surface that both provides good grip when reading and doesn't show marks easily. It seems good quality, and all of the seams are well sewn and sturdy. The elasticated strap which holds the 'book' closed when not in use fits neatly into a grooved slot to the right of the cover, and has yet to come loose while I've carried it in my bag. The latter also has several mm clearance of the on/off button, and I have had no problems with accidental activation of the kindle while it is in the case. I chose the steel blue colour, and while it is darker than I expected (monitor colour differences being what they are), it's a lovely shade.

The interior lining (of some unpronouncable man-made fibre apparently made with kindles in mind) feels like fine felt, and seems to provide a good, scratch-free surface for the kindle to sit against. It's charcoal-grey (like the kindle), so again, is not prone to showing marks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kindle cover 15 Jan 2011

Does what it says! I bought it to protect my Kindle when being put in a suitcase. I don't know whether the screen of the Kindle gets scratched, but I thought it best to protect it. It fits the Kindle perfectly and one feels as if one is holding a book.
