Like most women, I've tried a number of diets over the years but all have ultimately failed. As the author quite rightly points out in this book, as soon as you deny yourself certain foods they automatically become more desirable. I think that is the fundamental reason why this diet is so successful; you eat normally for five days of the week and 'fast' for just two.

'Fasting' however, is not as scary as it sounds! It involves consuming 500 calories per day, and this book provides you with a wealth of delicious recipes that all look and taste far better than you would imagine for such low calorie offerings.

The book itself is very well written and lavishly illustrated. I would certainly recommend it to anyone who is tired of the more traditional diets, whereby deprivation is the order of the day.

I love the fast diet but lately I have struggled with ideas for food to eat on my "fast days" that are 500 calories or less. When I got this book I immediately skimmed through and was impressed by the pictures of the food I saw. I also tried out the "egg in a blanket", it was really quick and tasty. I am looking forward to trying out many more of the recipes which I have already highlighted. The tips on how to manage a Fast diet, included in this book, are also very useful.

I bought another 5:2 diet recipe book and the recipes are good, but I quickly became frustrated with the serving sizes. I spent too much time trying to figure out the servings for 1. This book is EXACTLY what I needed. The recipes all serve 1 and include the calories for every ingredient, which is extremely helpful! Plus every recipe that I've tried so far has been amazing! (Try the Kiwi Coconut Shrimp or the Cheesy Grits and Greens.)

There's lots of recipes to choose from and you can't beat the price either. This one's definitely a keeper!

My wife is dieting AGAIN and as always she struggles with ideas on what to cook. Since I do 99% of the cooking in the house I thought I would download ‘5:2 Fast Diet Recipe Book’ by Diana Clayton and give it a bash.

I must say a brilliant cook book with mouth-watering dishes that are so quick and so simple to make for my wife and myself to help us with our dieting. The recipes I've made so far have been delicious (especially the Tomato Stuffing Surprise for breakfast!) and easy to follow and accompanied with colored pictures. I would highly recommend this book to anyone wishing to lose weight as all the rules and guidelines of 5:2 fasting and dieting are explained fully at the beginning of the book and the recipes are nicely categorized by calories.

Overall a brilliant cook book with good clear instructions and plenty of meal suggestion and ideas!

I really love this book, the recipes and ideas are inspirational. I often struggle to think of what to cook each day and end up cooking the same few dishes over and over again. This book is packed with suggestions, all the ones I have tried so far have been great. What is even more incredible is that they are all low calorie! I have come to think of low calorie meals as fairly bland or small affairs but this book has proved me wrong. The meals look stunning in the photos and even better in reality.
I think this book is great value for money and, as it is a Kindle ebook, you can easily take it with you wherever you go.
Highly recommended.

Having been a fan of Diana’s previous recipe book I decided to try this one as well. I’m happy to report that it’s just as good.

The book follows the guidelines of the 5:2 diet which is quite simply the best diet I have ever used, not only is it great for weight loss but also for general health.

Regarding the recipes, I found them to be delicious. There is a wide variety to choose from ensuring even the fussiest of eaters will find something they love and the preparation time is kept to a minimum which is always a massive bonus.

Overall I have to give the book two big thumbs up, the food is delicious, filling and healthy, what more could you ask for!

Really handy book to have around. There is huge variety of recipes to choose from and they're so easy to bash together. Each recipe is calorie counted and leaves you feeling satisfied.
There's also some great advice at the start of the book to help kick off a healthy diet. Some of my favourites include pumpkin pie smoothie, cheesy grit with greens and simple scallops with salsa. Highly recommend.
