3.0 out of 5 stars Did it just for money., 24 Jan 2004

It's a shame that after the seminal book "How to develop a perfect memory" the author produced this book just for the money. Without doubt Dominic O'brien is the worlds greatest memory man (he's won the worlds memory competition enough times to prove this.) and I learnt great things from his previous books, so I bought this without hesitation, but unfortunately it doesn't measure up to the aforementioned title. This book is better presented with nice pictures but doesn't have the detail or excitement that his other book has.

However it is a nice introduction to memory techniques, but if you are serious about improving your memory you should get "How to develop a perfect memory", but it is hard to find as I think it is no longer printed.

3.0 out of 5 stars strictly ok, 19 Sep 2003

well to begin with it's not really amazing. dominic has written some good books before like 'how to pass exams' and 'how to develop a perfect memory'.this product does not even get close to either of them.so if you are serious about improving your memory you might like other books by dominic o'brien.
the cards in the box are fun to play with but that is the ONLY good thing in this huge box and not at all worth the price paid for it

3.0 out of 5 stars Remember the Kids, 2 Sep 2005

This package may be a little light for the experienced memory developing enthusiast. Yes, other books produced by Dominic have much more substance for the information guzzler. But what I like about this package is that all the techniques have been bolied down to a colourful and practical 'multi-journey tool' that the reader can make instant use of. Its' simplicity make it ideal to get kids having fun and playing games to work their memory muscles. My 5 & 6 year old boys were amazed to discover that after an hour they could recall 50 randomly produced objects (pictured on the cards supplied)after memorising the journeys (also included) first. They got very competitive, had a lot of fun and recognised that there are ways to remember anything. The 'remembering faces' tool was possibly a good idea but one that needs developing as it hasn't helped at all. All-in-all some useful stuff which I would recommend for the beginner with no-knowldge of where to start building memory skills and for parents/guardians to use with their children.
