Using Amacom's range of Intelligent Interface cables, users can connect the Baby CDRW to any computers USB 1, USB 2, Firewire, PCMCIA (PC Card 16 Bit & 32 Bit Cardbus) or Parallel port, simply by changing the interface cable.
The Baby CDRW will draw it's power from the PCMCIA, USB 1, USB 2 and Firewire ports, so there is no need for a mains adapter or rechargeable batteries. With no drivers to install the Amacom Baby CDRW is fully "Plug & Play" and can be hot swapped without having to shut down your computer.
With high data transfer rates and fast access times the Amacom Baby CDRW provides high performance access to Data, Audio and Video CDs. Easily create your own CDs for distributing and exchanging data, software and multimedia files between friends and colleagues. Create your own personalised audio CDs containing your favourite tracks. With each disk holding up to 650MB of data and the ability to write and re-write data to CD-RW disks numerous times, the Baby CDRW is also a convenient backup solution for your home or office computer.

Amacom Baby comes up to expectations,

I wanted a portable CDRW that I could use to take with me to a client site and use on a client PC/laptop. It also needed it to act as a backup device for my laptop following the intermittent failure of the onboard CDRW device.The service from Amazon was as ever without fault and the device plugged into my XP driven laptop without a problem. I have USB1 ports but the speed of the device is greater than the on board CDRW (when it works!). I have to use the power cable (supplied) because of the USB1 but don't need to carry it with me if my client is supplying me with an USB2 port. This is the second Amacom device that I have purchased and if over time, it performs as well as my 'flipdisk', then I will have had good value for money.
