I Am Not A Human Being, Lil Wayne’s ninth album, is the follow-up to his 2010 album, Rebirth, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart and spawned the hit singles “On Fire,” “Prom Queen,” “Drop the World,” featuring Eminem, and “Knockout,” featuring Nicki Minaj.
The lead single from I Am Not A Human Being is an explosive street anthem called “Right Above It,” featuring Drake. In addition to three collaborations with Drake, who also appears on “Gonorrhea” and “With You,” the digital release of I Am Not A Human Being features guest appearances by a bevy of other breakout superstars from Lil Wayne’s hugely successful Young Money imprint, including Nicki Minaj (“What’s Wrong With Them”), Lil Twist (“Popular”), and T-Streets (“Hold Up”), along with fellow Cash Money label-mate Jay Sean (“That Ain’t Me”).
I Am Not A Human Being is Lil Wayne’s second album release in less than a year, capping off an outstanding decade that included selling 10 million records and earning eight Grammy nominations for his multi-platinum 2008 album, The Carter III, which shattered records by selling over one million copies in its first week of release. The New Orleans native who hails from the rough streets of Hollygrove is already a seasoned artist who released his first tracks at age 12 after he was introduced to Cash Money CEOs Ronald “Slim” Williams and Bryan “Birdman” Williams. He released the first instalment of the The Carter series in 2004, which added to his platinum plaques, followed by The Carter II in 2006, which further solidified Lil Wayne’s status as one of the best MCs in the hip hop game. But it was the critically acclaimed The Carter III that gave him his iconic stature in popular music, paving the way for his advisory role to grow as CEO of Young Money Records.
The digital release of I Am Not A Human Being will be available for purchase at all online digital retailers three weeks prior to the album’s physical release on October 12, 2010. “I want to give a gift on my birthday to my loyal fans who have continued to support me,” said Lil Wayne.

Lil Wayne is one of the most prolific rappers of the past 5 years, and whether you're a fan or not, his influence on the game can't be underestimated. Even though he's been in jail for most of 2010, over the past year Wayne has released the No Ceilings mixtape, Rebirth, We Are Young Money, and now I Am Not A Human Being. And that's without all the collaborations he's featured on (Eminem's No Love is a classic), and the countless videos he filmed in the run up to his jail time.
This is for the fans.
If you weren't a fan of the rockier Rebirth album, then check out I Am Not A Human Being. Although the title track could easily have slotted in on that album, there's some absolute hip hop gold from Weezy on here. It's a grower no doubt, so don't be surprised if it takes a few listens to feel every track.
Obviously this is all music Wayne recorded before he went to jail in early 2010, and some versions of the tracks have been around in different forms. Including the track 'Single' which also appears on his amazing No Ceilings mixtape.
It's a tight album, with many collaborations from his Young Money army (Drake, Nicki Minaj, Gudda Gudda, Lil' Twist etc). The opener is a real banger, and there's a good mix of hard beats, great verses, bar songs and slower songs. While perhaps it doesn't have the depth of the Carter albums, it's a great album that will definitely please his fans.
I loved Rebirth, so I'm hesitant to say it's a return to form. It's just a great album, period. Buy it.

Tha Carter III remains the pinnacle of Weezy career and one that his fans must still be hoping he can achieve again. Unfortunately it is not here. One hopes that the hyped up Tha Carter IV will not be similar. Some good tracks but I honestly don't like drake(sorry) and he features on way too many of them.
Worth getting if you like drake, wayne, minaj, ie young money. If you care about real hip-hop... stay away and cover your ears whenever this is played.

Lil Wayne has made loads of good albums and mixtapes but if your thinking about checking out his music don't listen to this listen to his older stuff. But as i'm a Wayne fan i really like this album, keep a look out for Carter 4 as that should be dropping in the coming months, I hope.
