Product Description

Review

"A valuable and deeply satisfying book. Knowing Carolyn as I do, I realise just how miraculous her story really is. This book MATTERS!"-Jennfer Rees Larcombe. "An amazing, gripping, painful horror story filled with love and hope, and ending in uplifting triuph". -Donna Fletcher Crow, Author of Glastonbury.

Product Description

"High-pitched childish screams explode into the air, unrelenting, shot through with blind terror. A wounded animal - A torture chamber - I know her well-oh, how well I know her! I have heard her screams often. That child is me". Carolyn Bramhall grew up in what seemed to outsiders to be a normal home, with hard-working parents, surrounded by apparently caring relatives. She graduated from Bible college, married, found a job a youth worker. Then nightmares and panic attacks started to swamp her. Dhe, her husband and two small children moved to work in America, but the internal stresses grew worse - and a host of other personalities started to make their presence felt. In due course 109 separate entities, each created to carry some aspect of truly ghastly past pain, would identify themselves. What could she possibly do?

Mindblowing 2 Sep 2006
Format:Paperback
I have spent all afternoon in bed reading this book. It will stay with me a long time. It is amazingly inspiring and encouraging to read the story of how this brave, brave woman survived such harrowing abuse and headed into the middle of it to find healing. It is a sad, riveting, captivating, horrifying and ultimately edifying read.

By Helen Hancox TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Paperback
This well-written book describes Carolyn Bramhall's slow understanding of events that have happened in her past and the way that she had been able to cope with them through multiple personalities. It's an exhausting read in some ways as more and more of her history is unfolded and we learn of the different personalities, "alters", within her who enabled her to keep going until the point in early adulthood where it all becomes too much.

Carolyn's recovery is in many ways a testimony to the support of Christian Counsellors and Therapists in the USA and in the UK and it is sobering to reflect how unusual that level of support must be, certainly in the UK from where Carolyn and I both come. Although frightening in some ways, her story is also a demonstration of God's power to deal with anything, no matter how deep-rooted or terrifying.
