This excellent book provides a sound analysis of the linkage between photography and the political, social and economic upheavals in Latin America since 1960. It includes a useful introductory essay which sets the context for the images by discussing the history of the continent over this period and then four sections examine the role of photography in recoring and providing insights into this history. There is also a very good bibliography, biographies of each artist and a summary timeline which is again helpful in context. I found the book extremely helpful in introducing me to Latin American photography, particularly when read in conjunction with the also excellent Urbes Mutantes.
