Product Description

A psychologically disturbed woman explores her darker side in this gritty thriller from indie director Jay Lee. Introverted office worker Alyce (Jade Dornfeld) tries to comfort her friend, Carroll (Tamara Feldman), when she reveals her boyfriend has been cheating on her. After bingeing on drink and drugs, the girls make for the 6th floor roof of Alyce's apartment where, after some horseplay, Carroll is critically injured in a fall. As the enormity of the event sinks in, Alyce's mental state rapidly deteriorates into psychosis as she embarks on an orgy of drugs, sex and violence...

From Amazon.co.uk

Life takes a downward spiral for Alyce after a night of partying goes terribly wrong and her best friend is knocked off the roof of an apartment building. Panicked and racked with guilt, Alyce returns to her apartment and lies to the police about her involvement. Shortly after she is confronted with the news that her friend miraculously survived the fall, but she is terribly injured and unable to speak. Now Alyce must deal with the fact that she won’t be able to hide the truth about what happened forever and unable to deal with her own guilt, she begins to unravel; losing sleep, losing her job and eventually her sanity. Until, that is, Alyce decides to take control of the situation. She realises that there is only one solution to her dilemma and really only one way to make sure her secret is kept. But will she be able to stop at just one murder?

This horror/thriller sets up as a symbol/metaphor for "Alice in Wonderland." There are numerous hints to connect the two within the film including the song, "White Rabbit" which we hear early in the film.

Alyce (Jade Dornfeld) has work and rent issues. She opts to go party with her best friend Carroll, as in Lewis Carroll (Tamara Feldman). They are very similar...like Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee. Alyce is clearly the follower of the two as she was known as SWF. Their desire to party and do drugs escalates until the point of no return.

Alyce descends further into the world of drugs and madness. At one point she swaps sex for ecstasy with a man who is symbolically the Mad Hatter. Then the film goes over the top as the thriller turns into horror.

This was an interesting film. At times the madness is shown as a weave of scenes of the present and future. The acting was especially good for a "B" film, although there were some scenes where I thought they could have done better on the dialogue. Worth a view for those who like their slasher films with less slash and more character.

Parental Guide: F-bomb, sex, nudity (Jade Dornfeld)

I'd never heard of this movie, but gave it a go. It turned out to be very good. Whilst watching it I wondered why it was an '18' certificate, then at the last 20 minutes it became clear, and I'm surprised the film hasn't been banned yet. Definitely worth watching !

Alyce's trip down the rabbit hole is a messed up, hilarious, and often grotesque decline into mayhem and monstrous madness. See if you can spot all the references to Lewis Caroll's book!

This is one of those films that I had heard good things about, so I gave it a punt. I am not a massive horror fan but do like the psychological stuff, this has some of that but it also has a fair bit for gore fans too. It is about the Alyce in the title who after a night of drinking and snorting with her friend, decides to go up on the roof of her apartment to connect with the building. Whilst up there Alyce sort of accidentally pushes her friend off and oops she goes a splatter on the pavement.

Alyce runs off bravely to her apartment to pretend it has not happened. This means lying to the police, then they tell her she is still alive but unable to speak. Now she was not only Alyces best friend but her only friend. Alyce works in one of those offices that emanates bullying and her boss is just horrible and now her only release is critically ill in a hospital bed. She has no choice but to get completely wasted on non prescription drugs. This she takes to like a duck to water. Problem is she is rather on the attractive side and her erudite dealer Rex, played brilliantly by Eddie Rouse decides he wants more than cash for the deal. She then enters the sad spiral into the abyss from which you can only ever claw your way back from - if you are lucky.

This then is one of those films that is hard to place; it starts out like a tragedy with some good and some bad acting, and the sound levels vary a bit too. Then as it progresses into nightmare it becomes an abattoir - esque blood and guts horror. The sex is not that graphic either, just spooky, and we do not have harrowing scenes of drug abuse, it is the gore that gets this the rating.

I realy liked this movey, I searched for a while on line after being told about it. I found it on Amason, and couldn't wait untill it arrived. I would recommend all you horror buffs out there to watch it, the acting is super, the story, of which i will not spoil by going into deep depth about it, is amazingly funny, with horror that made me give this film a 5 star rating. I hope you'all enjoy ALYCE as much as I did.
