Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

You've just bought the newest, smallest and shiniest digital camera and now you're terrified of marking or damaging your pristine piece of technology. We've all been there. Everyone likes their gadgets to stay shiny for as long as possible, and to help you achieve that dream Made products have developed the Always On Camera Wrap. The concept couldn't be much simpler, you just screw the wrap into the tripod fitting on the base of all cameras, and then wrap the camera up in the stretchy, protective neoprene. Hey presto, you're protected. The Velcro fastener flips open easily for taking shots, but vitally, the wrap stays attached to the base of the camera so you don't leave it behind. Unwrap, snap and wrap, and now you can stuff your camera in your bag or pocket without worrying that it's going to get up close and personal with your keys, or anything else likely to scratch the screen or damage its pristine beauty. No more scratches, no more cracks and most of all, no more leaving your camera case on the table of the last café you stopped at - perfect.

This does not fit around my Panasonic LF1 - a great product but does not fit all cameras - be aware of this. Cost for postage to return is more than the item itself, an annoying waste of money!!

Excellent product and solved problem of faulty battery cover not closing on my casio exilim camera. Screws into tripod hole on camera and stays permanently attached to camera. Doesnt offer same degree of protection as a hard case, but not an issue for me Fully recomend.

These always-on type camera wraps do the job well. They're not quite so sturdy or protective as some more traditional designs, but are very convenient in use, won't drop on the floor when in the "undone" postion, and do mean that your camera is almost instantly ready for action. Might be improved by having a slot somewhere for a spare memory card, but I guess that could impair the snug, compact fitting. A plus feature is that the basic material is elasticated, so the thing will expand/contract to fit various shapes of small camera well. I've used this quite a lot now, and it's pretty durable too, as well as very pocketable - no need to have the camera dangling from your neck or wrist. I think it's been a very good piece of kit.

Good and Quick 8 Feb 2008
    By LockNut52 - Published on Amazon.com
This is a good quality product that delivers as advertised. It's nice to have a wrap attached to your camera so you don't have to take it in and out of a camera bag constantly. It is very handy at trade shows, or races, or somewhere that you might want to keep your camera in your pocket, but you also want easy access to it.
The only drawbacks with this wrap are, you can't use it and use a tripod,
and depending on your camera configuration - you might not be able to access the battery compartment.
The product did arrive when expected, and I would recommend it to anyone interested in a camera wrap.

Nice camera protection, but... 8 Feb 2008

This is nice protection for my camera when I don't want the bulk of a bigger case. It's easy to install and provides nice padding for the camera. I dislike that I'm not able to access the battery or memory card with it on the camera. If I was using it for a day or two of snapshots, that would be fine. However, for travel, when I may be replacing the battery or removing the memory card to put the photos on my computer, it would be cumbersome. Also you really need a screwdriver or a dime (?) to attach and remove it from the camera...that adds another level of inconvenience. So...it's good protection, but can be a bit cumbersome to use.

I'm editing this review after having used the case for a longer time (and now using it on a different camera). The battery life on my camera is pretty decent, and I'm able to access the photos through a mini-usb that is accessible without removing the case (I used to have to remove the memory card which did require removing the case). So, my one complaint about having to remove the case to get to things becomes somewhat irrelevant. I love this case. One suggestion....put an address label with your phone number and address on the inside of the case in case you lose the camera.

Snug as a bug in a rug..... 31 Mar 2008

If you want a nice compact "camera case" the Always-On wrap works against nicks, scrapes and small bumps. Because the wrap is thin it makes for a nice small "convenient" method for carrying the camera. However because of the thinness of the wrap, it may not provide adequate protection against a hard knock or drop. I have a Lumix TZ3 and purchased the Black Wrap-Up for it. The wrap is a little small for the TZ3 camera. In hindsight I should have purchased the larger wrap for a better fit.

    For Panasonic LX3 22 Jan 2009

Bought this cover based on advice from the DPreview forums and I'm glad I did. I bought it for my Panasonic LX3 because I was not able to find a suitable cover for it and also the lens cover was beginning to bother me.

This wrap attached to the tripod screw at the bottom of the camera and stretches to cover the whole camera including the lens (minus the cover).

After using it, I felt my camera became much smaller in my pocket, even though it offers minimal drop protection.

And to reply to people who complained that they're not able to access their batter/SD card slot after using it, I was able to rotate the metal bar that attaches to the tripod screw and have access to the battery/SD without the need for removing it.

    A few drawbacks 9 Jun 2008

I didn't understand at first how the "Always On" case worked, but it screws in the Tripod connector on the bottom of the camera. Sometimes it is handy that it is always connected to the camera, however I have found a few drawbacks. It isn't easily removed if you do chose to, you need a screwdriver, and I rarely have one when necessary. It has no storage for extra SD Flash Cards or batteries. This one probably only applies to my camera, but the bracket that hold it "always on" overlaps my battery and SD Card compartment, so it has to be removed every time I charge the battery or swich cards. The protection for the camera is good, but put some thought into how your camera is set up before purchasing.
