Product Description

Bastard daughter to the king, Rosamunde was raised in a convent and wholly prepared to take the veil . . . until good King Henry showed up with a reluctant husband in tow for her. Suddenly, she found herself promising to love, honor, and obey Aric.

But Rosamunde's education had not covered a wedding night, and the stables were a poor example for an untried girl. Would Aric bite her neck like the animals did their mates? The virile warrior seemed capable of such animal passion, but his eyes promised something sweeter. And Rosamunde soon learned that while she may have trouble with obeying him, it would not be hard to lover her new husband forever.

By Deborah MacGillivray HALL OF FAME VINE VOICE
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Books come and book go, and often a month later if someone asks you want it was about, you would go ....hum, well...NOT with any book from fresh voiced Lynsay Sands! She is THE up and coming writer in the Romance Field to watch.
Always is tender, funny and witty romp, that leaves the reader HOWLING OUTLOUD. I NEVER read Lynsay in public for when the laughter bubbles out people turn and stare. Few writers have the power to make me laugh out loud.
She broke into the romance world with a bang with The Deed, and has proven with such great books as The Switch, Lady Pirate and The Key that she can do it again and again with her newest Bliss and the just coming out in US The Reluctant Reformer. Her style is fluid, her voice so natural, and there is no one else like her around. Her books are warm, intelligent and with a ton of humour. When I am reading anything by Lynsay, I am always smiling or laughing outloud!! So many times when someone tries the light touch with historical, their heroine comes out like an idiot. Lynsay deftly walks that fine line between jest and joke, with intelligent resourceful characters that often do silly things - but for good reasons! Most especially, her books are never contrived.
In Always, her Rosamunde is a gently raised bastard daughter of King Henry, and just before his death he arranges a marriage for her to Alric. He is coming off a bad engagement and has little trust for women, but sees no choice in the forced marriage. While Rosamunde is not totally against the idea of a husband, she brings a vast lacking in knowledge to the marriage bed due to the concepts instilled in her by the nuns . Rosemunde is an adorable, charming, witty character and one you will long remember. I read a lot, so often books tend to blur together. Years from now I will think of Rosamunde and remember her well!
An Absolute for Romance fans!

5.0 out of 5 stars Rib tickling..... 24 Mar 2007
Format:Mass Market Paperback
First book I read by this author. Bought based on the reviews below, who are all spot-on. I was crackling nearly throughout the whole book, finished in 4 hrs straight.

Very rare I could like a King character in historicals, this book has one such King. Funny & gullible heroin and dumbstrucked hero, with perfect best friend (surely Robert would have his own story.. will ransack Lynsay other books later).

Read it esp if you need some mood upliftment during the gloomy weather.

5.0 out of 5 stars Read again book 6 July 2002
By A Customer
Format:Mass Market Paperback
If you want a book that is entertaining, funny, erotic and easy to read then choose this one. I have read a few of the author's books and while some are better than others I have never been disappointed. I have read this book twice and will read it again in the future so no luck in second hand books with me. Of all the books I have read so far 'The Deed' has been for me the funniest, though this book was not far behind. Go on give them a chance, they might suprise you.

I could guess the killer from early on but it was still good to read the rest of the plot unfolding.

2.0 out of 5 stars A dissapointment 29 Nov 2013

Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a standard romance. It holds together reasonably well but something was missing all the way the way through. The characters were unusually bland for this author and even the climax was a let down. I am spoilt by the normal high standard of Sands's writing, this was just an ordinary historical.

5.0 out of 5 stars Always 25 Mar 2013

Tis a good book, nothing to do with vampires, but kings and queens. However, I did enjoy this book. But I do prefer Lynsay Sands vampire books.

4.0 out of 5 stars HandBag Reviewer 6 Jan 2012

Hello everyone its Angie Timball here,im here today to discuss my thoughts on Lynsay Sands Always what a wonderful and sweet romance this turned out to be.This novel starts with us meeting the heroine Rosmunde I saw her as a blonde, but back to the story Rosmunde was a lovely heroine she was sweet kind and loveable she didnt moan she just did the best she could in anything and everything she did,I loved the fact she was an animal lover as I am one too the horse in the grand hall had me giggling on the tube on my way home from work, back to our hero Aric he met every one of my expectations handsome and god he was a jealous sod at times. The villian was pretty easy to guess within the first few pages but other than that everything just slotted into place for me.

The rest of the cast where brilliant down to the ladys maids stable hands all superb, loved the history side of the it to with King Henry was drawn out just as I pictured him in my mind. It had a great lament of comedy as well thrown in I found myself upset when I had to turn over the last page and try and find a book to beat it.

Thats concludes my review love always from your loyal trusted friend Angie T

“I don’t know why it should surprise you. You gave yourself to me in marriage and I to you. Everything of yours is mine and vice versa—and that includes that. And let me tell you, my lord,” she added with a hard look, her eyes narrowed. “I am not so naive that I have not heard of adultery. And while I am very forbearing in a lot of things, should I ever get wind that you are sharing my ‘that’ with anyone else, I shall surely cut it off and mount it on the mantel.” "e;
