From the Back Cover

As the Japanese begin their assault on Singapore, Sarah Fuller is forced to leave her parents and fiancé, Philip, behind. The long journey to England is fraught with danger, and Sarah and her sister Jane don’t even know if their great-aunt is alive, let alone waiting for them.

They arrive in Cliffehaven, on the south coast of England, and here Sarah must find work to support them both. When the Women’s Timber Corps takes over the local estate, Sarah enlists as a lumberjill.

But as time goes on and the news of events in Singapore worsens, Sarah fears she will never see Philip or her parents again...

The Fuller girls find themselves got to there Great Aunt Cordelia Finch and the Beach View Boarding House and a whole new life.
"Always in my Heart" is the fifth book in series and as with the others I have really enjoyed it. The reader gets to catch up old friends and me new and interesting characters. I can't wait the next book in the series.

My favourite author. As always an excellent read but I was a bit disappointed at the ending, although the stories carry on from book to book each book still has an ending where as this one left some things unfinished, like Peggy's problem, is she pregnant again? Loved the story, disappointed with ending. Will have to wait until January now to find out the loose ends! :(

This story just sort of pootled along with nothing really happening. It then just ended in the middle of nowhere. I bought it for my kindle and went to turn the page and it had finished. I couldn't actually believe it. It just seemed to be half way through and I was still waiting for something to happen. Very disappointing and not a patch on all of her other books which I have read. I can only assume that her next book will be a continuation and tie up all of the many loose ends.

Always in my Heart by Ellie Dean for me was once again a reading pleasure from one author who certainly knows how to get under her reader's skin with characters who from page one I was immediately drawn into their lives.
Why this book was so good was that the author Ellie Dean brought us to Malaya where we meet the new residents of Peggy Riley's home in Cliffehaven, Sarah Fuller and her younger sister Jane where they were trying to get on with their lives under the threat of war but in their case it was not the Germans who threatened to overtake but the Japanese. As Sarah and Jane tried to understand their Father's fear which made him makes the decision that Sarah and Jane would be accompanied by their very pregnant mother Sybil and go to England to safety. They would move to Cliffehaven as the family were related to very treasured resident of Peggy's boarding house Beach View the very lovely but very hard of hearing Cordelia Finch. I loved how we got to know more of Mrs Finch as she was always an important part of the previous four books in the series and we always got brief glimpses into her past life but through the girls moving to England as a reader I soon realised what heartache Mrs Finch was carrying within her own heart though she always had space for Peggy and her colourful family and friends.
As we follow the lives of Peggy and her husband Jim and their surrounding family and friends as a reader I was constantly entertained as the couple are shown how much they are loved by all those who count their home as their own.

I have enjoyed all the books in the Beach View Boarding House series, but the writing for 'Always in my Heart' has really gone up a level. The people we have grown to know and love are all still there, together with new characters from a quite different background. The backdrop of the war in Singapore and Malaya is well researched and fascinating and gives an added dimension to the story ... and it was nice and long. Do hope there will be a follow up title.

I have read all the Beach View Boarding House stories and have enjoyed them greatly. This one started out completely different but like the other 4 stories I found it almost impossible to put the book down once I had started reading it. Hope there are some more stories about Peggy, Jim and the family I love reading about them. Keep writing about them and I will continue to buy and read them

I have read and loved them all, but have to agree with other reviewers, the ending in this book was a bit too vague! However, I quite like the new characters and look forward to finding out what happens to them, and about Peggie's problem....and about how Jim gets on in the Army! When can we expect the next instalment?
