Hmm 31 Jan 2013

I don't know why I felt like I've read this before. ... Idk... it hurts my soul to offer a review for ms. Rochon that's less than 4 stars but this was just a bore to me. I would recommend that you don't buy but borrow from a friend. It'll make for a better read than if you had to pay for it. The whole book read as deja vu.

Heart Renovation 7 Jan 2013
By Beverly Jackson - Published on
Format: Mass Market Paperback
Farrah Rochon has delivered another stunningly romantic installment in her Bayou Dream series. Always and Forever is once again set in the charming small town of Gautheir, Louisiana and features the magnetic love story between Phylicia "Phil" Phillips and Jamal Johnson. Jamal, a world-class architect is doing a hands-on renovation of turning a historical house into a bed-and-breakfast and quickly realizes he is in over-his-head, and the best person to help him out is the last person he wants to call. Jamal does not understand why Phil is not returning his calls, especially after the enjoyable time they spent together at a mutual friends wedding. Phil, a stunningly beautiful restoration specialist, is bossy, opinionated, and purposely avoiding Jamal, but not for the reasons he thinks. In a financial bind, Phil accepts the job from Jamal, and while they immediately clash on the restoration approach they cannot deny the sexual sparks whenever they are around each other. As Jamal patiently woos Phil, she learns to look within herself to what is important. But it is Jamal's past that will rear its ugly head and be the biggest obstacle to the couple's happily-ever-after.

Rochon's storytelling provides a fresh look at a couple learning to love and trust each other as she expertly interweaves the joys and heartache of building a house to last with building a loving strong relationship. While the love scenes are romantic, passionate and sizzle as readers have come to expect in romance books, it is the development of their relationship outside of the bedroom and resolution of their emotional baggage that will tug at the reader's heart. The characters are delightful and give readers a fascinating glimpse into the dynamics of a small black town using it historical past as a road to its future.

Strong pacing, snappy dialogue and great chemistry make for a sexy, touching and entertaining read. Grab your favorite beverage and cuddle-up as this book is a keeper. I recommend to all romance readers.

Always... Great Love Story 6 Jan 2013

I really enjoyed this story of forgiveness, finding love and letting go of the fears holding you back from success. This story had so much real emotion it was easy to imagine Jamal and Phylicia as one of your friends; they fit together so perfectly. I enjoyed the tension they fought to contain. It was so clear they wanted the same things out of life yet were crippled by fear of failure and hurt. I was also caught up in the sub-story of building and restoring houses. The descriptions and vivid images of the restoration process was like watching one of my favorite shows on HGTV. I appreciated catching up with Mya and Corey from the first book in this series; they are an adorable couple and make good friends.

I can always count on this author to deliver a well written, constructed, and well edited love story. I hope there is more to come in this series. I get so nostalgic when I read this authors work as it reminds me of the stories that made me fall in love with the romance genre. Well done.

This my first read by this author, will not be the last! I was happy to see Mothers Restaurant was in the storyline!😀... I'm from a town nearby. Phil opened her heart and showed Jamal how to cherish family he has in the present. I would definitely recommend!
